staying in: the hallway tour

*this post contains gifted product and is sponsored*

and last - but not least - is the hallway make over. you've had the bedroom, bathroom and living room, and now i bring you: the hallway of dreams from my colourful little flat. as the entry way to the rest of the flat, it had to be full of personality, and give (what little) visitors (i have) a real sense of what to expect from the rest of my place. so naturally, it's pink, rough, and full of pictures.

my painter sam and i decided to only bother painting the left wall as we weren't sure that i'd picked up enough paint (oopsie), and also, the reverse wall gets absolutely no light whatsoever, so keeping it the light magnolia that it started out as seemed a bit more practical (and a lot less fussy than painting around aaaall those door frames!).

the top part is painted in an off white paint that i'd actually had for ages, as i had planned to use it in the bathroom (but totally forgot to do, and the bathroom walls are still magnolia, which i'm not that bothered about to be honest - maybe next year i'll give it all another coat to keep it fresh), and the bottom half is by valspar paints (kindly gifted) in the shade 'coral crush'. it's not the shade i planned on, but the clever little light box at b&q made the colour i wanted seem far too orange than what i wanted, and this peachy pink is just perfection. the line dividing the two colours is rough, but purposefully, because who's got time to paint inside the lines these days? i love the effect, and was inspired to take this approach by one of my fave interior grammers, stacie from costadeldepford.

when it came to prints, i wanted this space to be totally reflective of my favourite travel memories, and so to do that, i knew i had to really personalise my selection. i asked around online for some suggestions, and was introduced to my picture, who specialise in printing personal memories. i looked through their selection of products, and in the end decided on two framed photo prints and two canvas prints - all of which were some of my favourite photos of me and my travels in the last few years. in the mix are sri lanka, new zealand and lake bled, and the quality of the prints and products is incredible - even though the pictures themselves are filtered within an inch of the original photos; a real miracle if you ask me!

the rest of the trinkets and memories from travels abroad, are colourful tokens from past lives, and are just a nice little collection of junk i have collected over the years. it's messy, but it's mine, and it perfectly personifies me and my space. and really, anyone coming into this flat is going to get an instant sense of who i am, and what i'm about the minute they take this colourful scene in - right?
