if you're anything like me and love a bit of chocolate and taking in a fun musical on the west end, then this is the competition for you. the chocolate loving leprechauns over at lily o'brien's doing us a solid this christmas, and not only giving away free delivery on all orders over £30, but also going ahead and entering every single customer over the christmas period ('til dec 31st) into the draw to win two tickets to see charlie and the chocolate factory at the infamous theatre royal on drury lane, and one night's accommodation in a 4* london hotel! what top lads! (t's+c's apply, naturally)
to temp you further, please look at this picture of the deeeelicious dessert collection selection that lily o'brien's kindly sent me to make sure I could satisfactorily conclude that you won't be disappointed with any of their scrummy chockies this christmas, and accepting your complete selflessness, that these delicious treats actually do make great chrissy gifts!
my favourite; crème brûlée - sweet vanilla custard truffle on a layer of smooth caramel, in a white chocolate cup, and sprinkled with caramelised sugar. oh, my, god. they are sensational. creamy, sweet and so very moreish. boyfriend's favourite; vanilla icecream + toffee crisp - luscious white chocolate truffle delicately flavoured with bourbon vanilla from madagscar, in a milk chocolate cup, and topped with white chocolate and crisp toffee pieces. literally tasted like vanilla bean icecream. it was unreal.
honourable mention; strawberry pavlova - sumptious strawberry mousse blended together with crushed meringue and strawberry pieces in a milk chocolate cup, and dusted with pink sugar. it tasted pink, and i gorged on all of them and the crème brûlée while watching the goonies with boyfriend and listening to the rain smash the windows in while i should have been packing for my weekend with the girls in edinburgh.
oh well. the price you pay for decadence.
do you think chocolates make a great christmas gift? what about that prize though!
