my first trip to the crystal palace dinosaur park was over a year and a half ago, but since then i haven't been back a lot. once or twice, but not nearly enough, considering how incredible a space it is. on monday i was feeling poorly, a bit bored, and needed some fresh air but didn't want to travel too far - so it was a no brainer to me. a few stops on the overground later, i was there.
i wandered amongst the grade i listed sculptures of extinct dinos and mammals while i tried to warm up with a coffee, having a read of the info boards as i went. originally unveiled in 1854, they were the first dinosaur sculptures in the entiiiiire woooorld. flamingly inaccurate by modern standards, but... so was the first jurassic park, soooo.
next time i head over i want to grab an audio guide and take the darwin dino tour, just to hear a little more about the history behind the sculptures too. it was nice to get out of the house, and do something a littttttle bit different for an afternoon.
have you been over to crystal palace dino park?
