earlier in the week i was challenged by vouchercodes uk to share a few tips on how to wear bubblegum pink through the a/w season without coming off as a bit of a neon throwback, and without breaking the bank. well, this is your final instalment, so here we go.
i picked up this dress with a new look sale voucher code and it was less than a tenner; more than fifty percent off. i bought it with a few other things, so i got free click and collect too. i bought it because i found the colour and print combination a bit intriguing... everyone knows you don't wear red and pink together... but, what about burgundy? burgundy is the ultimate a/w colour, and with the bright pink print in this dress, i wondered if this could be the perfect trans-seasonal dress.
considering i've worn in three times this week, i'm thinking... i was right; paired with the adorable pastel pink bowler hat, the pink in the florals is perfectly complimented and does not clash with the burgundy at all. i am still baffled by this, but the photos don't lie! to hit the streets, i added my leather jacket to give it a bit of a tougher (and warmer) look, and, coupled with the leather chelsea boots, i was definitely selling autumnal.
i guess what i'm trying to say is, don't write off pink because of pre-conceived ideas about what it'll go with. i would never have considered burgundy and pink - as per my previous post, i was all "wear it with muted tones, rah rah rah!" but now, i'm all "wear it with all the things and totally surprise yourself and discover a new favourite colour combo!"
so tell me, which of the looks did you prefer the best?
this one's totally my fave.
