hat : h&m | dress : primark | shoes : dune
alternate post title: 1 + 1 + 1 = 3, as in, i am literally wearing three items of clothing. i have bare arms, bare legs, and i'm beltless. and, if you know me at all, you'll consider this completely outside the realm of comfortable; and yet, here we are. this dress though. this dress though. it's so bloody smashing, as are these shoes, that i reckon this outfit it enough. just enough, without over complicating it with anything else.
i first saw this dress in primark a couple of weeks - nay, over a month ago (i haven't been shopping in foreverrrrrr), and loved it. but, with the original price tag well over a tenner - something i'm rarely prepared to pay at primark, i left it for another day. well, that day came on friday as i was pottering around after my haircut (weee! haircut!) and before meeting my friend, and i happened upon it on my beloved sale rail. at over 50% off, it was all mine for a measly fiver. a fiver.
it may be hard to appreciate just how pretty the print on this is, because every time i tried to edit the pics to brighten the colours (t'was dark this past weekend huh?), it was blow out because of the sheen of the fabric. it's some sort of poly-blend, sure, but it bloody looks like fancy schmancy satin, and i am in love. it's mostly mint with bright pops of pink and purple and blue and oh my it's just perfect. and, oh and, because of the little bit of weight that i've lost recently, i even got to buy a size that fits perfectly and isn't too big here and too small there and ok everywhere else. it's just simply perfection.
what's even better though (un-possible!) is that this new addition to the wardrobe goes just perfectly with my new sandals that arrived last week after a peer-pressured buy from the girls at work. to be honest, it didn't take much persuading, because... pink. sandals. on sale. so, these dune branded babies were £11 marked down from an original dune price (stop saying 'dune' like it means something to these people) of 'really expensive for sandals', and the day they arrived it was bucketing down. i wondered if i would even get a chance to wear them this summer. hint: i have!
with the addition of the £5 hat i picked up in the h&m sale at the end of last month, this whole outfit cost £21. i mean... that' pretty awesome, right? yeah. i reckon i'm right.
