g is for [new] girl

so sue me, i cheated. i didn't know what else g could stand for, and... i'm not that imaginative. so, it was a choice of glee, goulash or grammys. and, grammys only because i'm currently watching a highly edited down version of it. goulash, you can read about here, and as for glee? well, i'm a bonafide gleek - there's not much more to it than that. so, for the simple fact of laziness - and maybe a touch of writers block, let me tell you about why i love the funniest show on tv: new girl.

reason i love new girl #1: nick miller. both boyfriend and i have a crush on nick miller. nick miller is a no hoper. nick miller has an unfinished law degree and works in a bar. nick miller is miserable. and yet, there is something about this guy that makes girls want to be with him, and guys want to be him. he's funny too! i just tried to google 'nick miller quotes' and my computer crashed! ok, that's a lie, but you get where i'm coming from. "no, i don't wash the towel, the towel washes me. who washes a towel? what am i going to do? wash the shower next? wash a bar of soap? you gotta think here, pal!" 

reason i love new girl #2: the outfits. jess day has the best style, of any tv character, ever. she is cute and quirky, and as the tag line says, she's flippen adorkable. as a primary school teacher she has to look professional, but fun, and she does this in birght colours and loud patterns. a girl after my own heart! i swear she has inspired my dress and jumper collection the last year or so - and the minute i found out i needed glasses, well i made sure i got some like hers. i think - until recently, positive tv icons were really hard to come by. thanks to jess day, we have a funny, smart, kooky positive role model that everyone loves at long last. and, her cheques have baby farm animals on them, bitch! i would want her entire wardrobe. not to mention her bedroom? so flippen perfect!

reason i love new girl #3: the amount of celebrities willing and keen to put their name to this show. like, seriously. in two seasons there has been a plethora of stars signed on for minor roles, happy to play whatever role they can get their hands on just so they can be in this show. justin long, dermot mulroney, jamie lee flippen curtis. ryan. kwanten. that says a lot about a show when bonafide movie stars want to be involved. who will be next? only time will tell...

reason i love new girl #4: it's so obvious, isn't it? we've seen it a hundred times before, but with jess and nick you almost don't want them to get together because it would be less fun to watch without all the tension in their relationship. then when this happened, my stomach dropped. i was so happy! i made boyfriend rewind so i could watch it again. and again. love!

then there's all the bits in between; schmidt and his classic douchebaggery, jess and her random songs, the banter, the lines, the relationships. it's allllll good. and i genuinely can't live without this show, click here for proof! it's an awesome show, don't you agree?
